Jessie Willcox Smith was brought into the world in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1863 and kicked the bucket in 1935. Smith was an American artist for children’s books just as celebrated magazine distributions like “Women Home Journal”, “Great Housekeeping,” Harper’s,” and the sky is the limit from there. She went to the School of Design for Women and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She was one of the ten ladies drafted into the Hall of Fame Society of Illustrators (set up in 1958).
