Andreas Achenbach was a German landscape painter born in 1815. His work focuses on romanticism and the mundane subject matter yet drawing out the innate beauty. He was the pioneer of the German realist school and the father of German landscape painting. We can see his work at various places, including at the Berlin National Gallery, the New Pinakothek in Munich, and the galleries at Dresden, Darmstadt, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Leipzig, and Hamburg.
