Webb, James, England 1825 to 1895 Oil Paintings
James R. Webb was born in England in 1825 and kicked the bucket 70 years after 1895. He was a British painter who had practical experience in scenes, seascapes, and even cityscapes, which frequently have an amazing sentimental and even oriental feel. He grew up and lived in Chelsea, London, where his dad Archibald Webb and his sibling Byron Webb were likewise noted painters. In London, he went to class and showed his work at the Royal Academy and the British Institute. A significant number of Webb’s works hang in the Tate Gallery and numerous other eminent assortments worldwide.
